Anyway, it makes it really difficult to sift through the massive list to look for groups of fonts that I just temporarily load. I'm sure many were installed with "upgraded" programs too (another sore spot.I hate programs that automatically load fonts without any user control). I know that not all even came with Win Vista. I have yet to find a conclusive list to determine what fonts I can remove without doing harm.

Now, with Vista, it's like trying to manage a giant beast!Īt start up, I'm stuck with about 260 fonts. So, I basically moved all but the essential fonts out of the fonts folder, and just temporarily loaded other fonts I needed. I learned early on which system fonts were included and were required. On my old XP it was pretty easy to manage my fonts. I'm a freelance graphic artist, so I use many different fonts on a daily basis. Last July, after years of using Win XP, I was forced to move to a new computer with Win Vista. I'm sure this has probably been asked and answered before.but I couldn't seem to find it though with a quick search on this forum.
